Ellen Wetmore

Ellen Wetmore (b. 1972, Saginaw, MI) has always made art as though she is taking dictation from somewhere else. She draws/writes down what she sees in her head. It doesn’t feel like it comes from her. Ellen would believe it if aliens appeared and said Thanks for Being Our Cypher.

Ellen’s art has exhibited in Boston, London, Santa Fe, Toulouse, Tulsa, Rome, Providence, and Cologne. She is a Pollack Krasner Fellow, School of the Museum of Fine Arts Traveling Fellow, Massachusetts Cultural Council Fellow, a Berkshire Taconic Awardee, and a Creative Economy Initiative Fund Awardee. Art is one of her greatest joys.

Ellen’s artwork was featured in ‘Hi Neighbor!‘ on view August 8-30, 2026.

“Look in the bottom left corner for a fox in a fish-ship.”
