“I’ve always been drawn to the music. Active appreciation led to first seat, second violin in high school. Berlioz’ Symphonie Fantastique- music as a story – got me started but everything Baroque, Bach, and classical held my attentive ear. When Jazz entered the mix after a trip to New Orleans, I was totally hooked on musicians at work. I’ve been capturing the nuanced energies of musicians for more than 25 years.
Rehearsals give me the great opportunities to catch what makes this type of community so engaging. Live performance is motion and emotion connected. Putting the musicians and audience together always transforms the performance.”

“Photographing orchestras for 20 years, I’ve always seen the conductor as a “colorful focus on hands” in a group effort for excellence.”

“One woman, four friends in the kitchen for tea, one dream, 20 years invested and over one hundred volunteers brought this ship to life. It’s a great story. I am happy to share it.
Color and light do magic to this modern reconstruction of a 17th Century English Ship built near Bath, Maine.”
