Britny Pastuszak

Britny Savary-Bersani Pastuszak (b. 1990, Dover, NH) seeks to challenge and disrupt the landscape as her subject matter in her recent work.

Pastuszak states, “I view beauty as ephemeral and not tied to it’s method of creation but evolving as it becomes eroded. I connect this concept to my work in that each panel starts as a worn substrate, but then is buried by color and light. I find this ever-changing allure essential to my work.” The artist has recently began reconnecting with oil paint and exploring encaustic as a way to further explore the use of layering in her work on panel. Through the use of drawing, printmaking, and painting Pastuszak creates layer upon layer, seeking to achieve a dream-like image, where the viewer decides the rest.

Pastuszak holds a BFA in Interdisciplinary Arts Arts from the New Hampshire Institute of Art with additional coursework from Lesley University. Pastuszak resides in Lunenburg, Massachusetts with her husband, daughter and loving pets Arlo & Finn. Pastuszak is continuing her education at Fitchburg State University.
