Lucas Grondin

Lucas Grodin (1996, Dover, NH) is a painter located in Southern NH but is originally from the Seacoast. He graduated with a BFA in 2019 from the New Hampshire Institute of Art. Inspiration strikes when a landscape evokes a feeling or a memory. As Lucas builds the scene he tries to capture the colors and fragments that feeling may have. Naming the piece is an important step. Lucas tends to use lyrics from a song that he associates with the subject matter. He hopes that the seemingly abstract titles will help the viewer unlock their own connection to the piece.

Lucas’s artwork was featured in ‘Hi Neighbor!‘ on view August 8-30, 2026.

“This piece visualizes the surreal relationship that I have with the ocean. The vase passes time looking out into an endless blue.”
