Makenzie OMeara

Makenzie OMeara (b. 1993, Keene, NH) tumbled into the Boston photography scene recently. He aimed to use analog film photography as a medium to capture portrait stills for his drawings, but rabbit-holed deep into a craving obsession of collecting moments of life. He grew up in New England and brings his classical background of physics to his point of view. He works primarily with a Nikon F3 and 35mm film.

Makenzie’s work was featured in ‘Critical Mass,’ on view August 12-27, 2023.

“With my photography, I search for disjointed structures or patterns, and with this series I aimed to isolate the figure from any reference point to dramatize extreme control in contrast with the act of free fall.”
