sayonnaise (1982, Meredith, NH) is a self-taught multi-disciplinary NH based artist firmly rooted in her cigarettes as art era. sayonnaise was always interested in creating, and finally started making art in earnest in 2017. The cigarette is the obvious influence in their work, but a second look reveals exasperation with their effect on our environment, and questions the social taboos tethered to smoking. In 2026 sayo was commissioned to make a felted set of cigarettes with lighter and ashtray, participated in the inaugural NHAltMarket, showed two pieces for Wrong Brain’s Trail Mix Art Show in Newmarket NH, and was accepted as an artist in residence at the Château d’Orquevaux Artists & Writers Residency for 2027. Sculpture is sayo’s dominant discipline, but they are starting a series of acrylic paintings marrying their affinity for cigarettes with landscape.
